The bombAfter the attacks on Pearl Harbor, something needed to be done. A deep thirst for revenge triggered the start of the Manhattan project. Along with many others, Robert Oppenheimer worked tremendously hard to create something that would satisfy the longing to destroy the Japanese. The Manhattan project was designed to create the first nuclear weapon in the world. Through the project, the idea of Atomic bomb was soon formed and it was built in the middle of New Mexico. Two Atomic bombs were created named "The little boy" and "The fat man". On July 16th of 1945, the first Atomic bomb was tested. On August 6th of 1945, the first Atomic bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. On August 9th of 1945, the second Atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki. At least 120,000 people were killed as the results of the bombs being dropped. On August 15th, Japan announced it's surrender and then later officially signed documents to end their share in the war.
